Members

MemberDescription
Format16bppArgb1555This 16 bit format uses four separate channels: 1 bit for alpha information, 5 bits for red, 5 bits for green, and 5 bits for blue.
Format16bppArgb4444This 16 bit format uses four separate channels: 4 bits for alpha information, 4 bits for red, 4 bits for green, and 4 bits for blue.
Format16bppCustomThis 16 bit format allows for other combinations of bit masks. And they can be defined using the images RedMask, GreenMask and BlueMask.
Format16bppGrayScaleAll 16 bits are used for grayscale data.
Format16bppRgb555This 16 bit format has no alpha information and uses three separate channels for RGB each 5 bits long. The high order bit is ignored.
Format16bppRgb565This 16 bit format has no alpha information and uses three separate channels: 5 bits for red, 6 bits for green, and 5 bits for blue.
Format1bppIndexedBlack and white image, or far less likely an image with two palette entries that could be other colors than black and white.
Format24bppRgb24 bit true color image with 1 byte for each red, green, and blue channel.
Format32bppArgb32 bit true color image with 1 byte for each red, green, blue, and alpha channel.
Format32bppRgb32 bit true color image with 1 byte for each red, green, and blue channel. There is no alpha channel information with this format and the fourth pixel is ignored.
Format4bppIndexed4 bits are used for a palette based image, that could be color or grayscale.
Format8bppIndexed1 byte or 8 bits are used for a palette based image, that could be color or grayscale.
UndefinedUndefined pixel format

Remarks

Determines the number of bits or bytes used to store pixel data. The pixel format also determines which bits or bytes are used for each color channel, alpha channel, or grayscale information.
